She is silent, humble in her long waiting,
Ages have passed and all has remained,
Like a fragment of broken glass reflecting
-Just a little of what image was set before.
Time moves onward, displayed in the land,
Skies roll above a world of loneliness,
Shadows grasp at her pale skin, rain falling,
Yet she notices not the damp clutch of its power.
All is cold and empty in this hollow place,
Her heart heavy in anticipation, in waiting,
The boarders of an empty world wear thin,
As seasons change their colour and mass.
And a tingle, an inkling arises within,
The light, a ray from a broken cloud,
Catches her liquid eye unaware.
A smile grows across lips, long unspoken,
Then all is reviled in a fragment of time.
Wings spread far she reaches great heights,
Drifting on many winds unseen,
Waiting has died now finding takes hold,
She searches frantically but still cannot see.
And a tower now stood afar in the night,
A single candle guides her way,
Drawing her closer in necessity, in need,
Her heart burns like a phoenix deep within,
A knowing, a longing ruling inside.
When she reaches the tower all is not done,
For a beast she must battle, a beast she knows well,
Upon a mirror it dances, her very worst fear,
The beast, herself, the burdens run deep.
To conquer she must remember the reason,
She set out on this quest, a need to know,
As the beast grapples within, a fight so strong,
She finds herself entangled in her own clutch,
But a voice calls from the depths shattering shadows,
A voice so sweet like honey on the tongue,
-Reminds her the reason she came this way,
In wholeness she finds the key of escape,
And breaks free of the beast’s strong clasp, remembering.
The candle soars high, its flame so true,
Then finally he arises before her. Skies turn.
Into his arms she falls forever -true comfort,
In wholeness she found the opposite of her,
In wholeness she grew truly complete,
Now forever they lay entwined together,
Love so strong, none could break.
And as it is written, so it is true:
‘Eternity belongs to the hearts of lovers.’
