Ditching our Stories

what I'm thinking about this morning is our stories. You know, those stories that we give out about who we are. They usually start as tidbits..."yes, I do have an American accent, I'm from California" That's pretty much my 'cover story' these days. My accent is an instant conversation starter, so that's who I let folks know I am. If they want the story I will usually give it to them, but only in little dribs and drabs. I don't 'know them that well' so I only put out a fraction of my life story. If you develop a relationship with that person you will exchange more and more of your personal stories as the relationship deepens.

Now everybody has their own story. Some stories are of victimhood and suffering, some stories are about abundance and prosperity. Some happy, some are not. But behind each story is a Soul. And I think that is what we long to touch in each other. I think we prevent ourselves from touching Souls by sticking our stories in the way.

We've been telling our stories for so long that we actually believe them. We believe them to a point of when our real or higher self speaks to us, we ignore it much of the time.
If we can't hear our own higher self...how can we expect to touch someone else on that
level?

I think we use our 'life stories' as protective shields around ourselves so that we don't have to get 'too close' (read vulnerable) or 'give too much away' (read fear of lack) or 'give them any power over me'...(read fear losing personal power).

So what I was thinking was what if we just ditched our stories, just went 'nekkid' out into the world, how much easier would it be for us to communicate on a higher frequency? I mean the internet sorta gives us this, we can tell our stories or not tell, or make up whole new ones, and who is to know. But imagine sitting down with a fellow human being that you've recently met, having a coffee and a chat...no stories allowed. You are only allowed to be in this particular moment, right here and right now, and this is all there is, so that's what ya gotta talk about.

How would we present ourselves without our stories? Are we brave enough to venture out there nekkid? Me? I think I have eliminated most of my 'old' stories. Right now what you see is pretty much what you get, I AM my own story, and I'm making it up as I go along.
