what happened to enlighten women?

Hi,
A friend of mine asked me a question "Is there anywhere in history 1 enlighten woman, like Buddha or Jesus?".
I know women skip one step, they don't talk about enlightment, they are. Do you know any enlighten woman? Why the history don't talk about them?
