Thinking about thinking

I think most of us here are aware of the power of thought. That thoughts are real, created, and powerful things that we must take responsibility for. Seems to me that sometimes, though, we use our thought patterns to stop ourselves in our tracks.

There are heaps of folks out there, especially online, who wanna sell you their ideas for manifesting abundance, for taming ego, for all sorta good stuff. But I think there is one common mistake made by way too many folks.

We tend to think in future terms. One day I will have abundance. One day I will clear out all my emotional baggage. One day I will find the right mate/partner. One day I will get ego tamed and incorporated. Someday...well, seems to me if everything is in the NOW, we oughtta start acting now, and stop postponing our awakening for some unspecified future time.

Now it may seem a bit silly for me to tell you how abundant my life is, because to anyone looking in from outside, it probably wouldn't be seen that way. Money comes and goes as needed, and the savings balance is...well, modest.

BUT I FEEL abundant. I act abundant, I live my life as if it were overflowing with abundance. I am not gonna fall into that trap of waiting for something I can have right this minute.

Not much money? Doesn't matter.

I have spring bulbs poking up through our cold winter soil, carrying with them the promise of life and colour for Spring. I have a buncha four foots around the place that think I am the grandest and greatest human being that ever lived. I have a husband and son who think I'm pretty smooth too. We have enough to eat. Even if we are 'budget shopping' it just takes a few extra seconds to add something a bit special to make the dinner plates attractive and interesting, a curl of carrot, a few bits of fresh herbs. Who needs fancy resturants? (LOL, not that we have any out here anyway).

We purchase most of our clothing in OpShops...second hand. Partly because it's cheaper, mostly though, because the shops in the bush are 'bargin basement' sorts, and you can actually buy better quality, lightly used, clothing at the Red Cross or Salvation Army stores.

So what's my point? Well, I'm not gonna spend one single day feeling lack...I reject the whole concept. Because I THINK my life is abundant and rich, it is.

The same is true, in my opinion, about how we see ourselves in terms of our awakening, our health, our finances. Our entire way of living should be based on the idea that everything is perfectly ordered by Divine Plan, and everything is right now.

This should include our thinking about our health, our relationships, our ascension processes, everything. Why waste moments of today worrying or hoping about the future?
Everyone can look around and see the blessings of Universe everywhere around us, right now.

It's a matter of perspective I guess. If you choose to work on healing...you are postponing that healing for some future, unspecified time. If you use your thoughts to create wellness and vitality every moment of the day...well there won't be any room for dis-ease.

If you believe you are rich in the gifts of Earth, moment by moment, you will not even notice those moments that some would consider lacking.

If you decide to tame ego, or clear out old stuff, just think about it, moment by moment. There won't be any spare moments left for fear and ego to reside in.

If you are waiting for your perfect partner, well, stop waiting and get ready. Don't hang out in your daggiest, baggiest, raggediest clothes while you meditate on your perfect relationship. You are MANIFESTING what you want and need, right now, right this minute. How ya gonna feel if your door bell rings and it's him/her and you simply aren't prepared. Begin each day thinking that he/she will be arriving in this moment. Have you hair combed, dress for him/her, put on a bit of smell good...be ready. It is when you are ready...when you make a space in NOW for what you want, that it arrives.

Sitting around thinking someday will get you exactly that...someday. I dunno about you guys, but if all it takes is thinking I'm abundant, happy, and loved, well, then I am, because I just created it. If I think I'm having wonderful spiritual adventures along my ascension path...well, I do. It works the same way for everything...jobs, relationships, self awareness, finances...everything.

Thoughts are not just whisps of energy that flit through your mind. The are real things. Concrete things that can be the foundation stones of whatever it is you are trying to create.

Heck, we are in charge of our own thoughts. Nobody can tell us how or what to think...well, I guess some try, but they can't. So each morning, before you begin your day, decide what sorta day you wanna have. Decide what you want to think about and how you want to think about it. Then take responsibility for your thoughts. Focus them and keep them positive and uplifting. Moment by moment. If you do this, well, there simply aren't any spare moments left over for negative, or someday, thoughts to slip into.
