Go Beyond Yourself and Share Your Love

One of the key ways we can show our love toward others is to share with them in a gracious, compassionate way. Recently, a woman in a hospital died in front of literally dozens of people who just stood by and watched her die without so much as lifting a finger to help her. If people truely practiced compassion and love, this would never have happened. If you claim to be a very spiritual person but do not share love with others, you are deluding yourself. Love is so easy to give and it means so much to others.

A good study in love would be the type of love a pet gives, i.e. dogs and cats. Pets are a great way to learn how to love if you take the time to observe them.

Invite family, friends, neighbors to…

  • Have a picnic, breakfast, brunch/lunch, dinner in your local park, garden, home etc… to celebrate and/or meditate on “love”
  • Organize a community Global Love Day celebration in your local area or join up with others who have already organized an event (example: parades or concerts)
  • Organize other types of Global Love Day special events like block parties, candlelight celebrations, art galleries, musical or theater events based on love, gratitude, and forgiveness
  • Share a meal with someone less fortunate and/or volunteer to assist an organization in need
  • Promote random acts of kindness during Global Love Day
  • Reach out to those less fortunate, volunteer to teach someone to read or read to someone who cannot see or just read to someone who might be ailing and needs to hear a soothing voice.
  • Add a few dollars to a homeless person’s cup instead of a few cents or bring them food to eat.
  • Volunteer for the day to assist with or serve at your local soup kitchen for the homeless
  • Help a neighbor by cooking for them when they are sick
  • Volunteer to reach out to a hospice or the twilight brigade to help those who are dying
  • Go to an animal shelter and adopt one of the beautiful animals
  • Give to an animal or human rescue organization that really helps people
