On becoming ONE (a metaphor)
I was contimplating what it truely meant to be at One with God and the Universe... What does it mean to be without judgement, attachment, etc? What does it mean to ascend?
As I was thinking about this a butterfly flew by the open window to my garden. He fluttered by without a care. Landing on a fragrant rose. Fluttering off. Then I noticed another one fluttering in unison with the first. They danced through the air rising and diving. Fluttering to a flower. Sharing butterfly kisses. Fluttering, dancing off. Freedom and joy....
Oneness with God and the universe doesn't come from looking outside of us and seeing what needs to be healed or fixed. It comes from within. Much like the butterfly. It once was a slow caterpillar remanded to a life on the ground. Skulking from leaf to leaf. Praying not to be gobbled up by a passing bird. Until having his fill of this kind of life, calls off the search. He goes within, wraps himself in the warmth and coziness of love. Then one day having filled themselves with self love (he is alone)healing his fears (he knows things will never be the way they were before), he begins to squeeze his way out of the snug warm cocoon. The urge for freedom spurring him on. As he bursts out into the brilliant day everything has changed. His whole perspective has changed he is free. He sees the other caterpillars below and shout for them to hurry get in their cocoon. But the catapillars can not hear him their ears are not able to interpret the words of the butterfly. He keeps on. They glance up not at all concerned about what the butterfly is on about. The butterfly then realizes that the caterpillars will never become butterflies by listening to him go on and on and on. They must each walk their own path. They must each build their own cocoon and go with in to experience oneness and come out on the other side. The best and only thing he could ever do for them is hold them in his heart remembering what it was like to be in their blindness to what the future truely held. Every once in a while he could swoop down and listen as the caterpillars gasped in awe of his beauty never guessing it was there destiny as well. Then wait to welcome them as they would dance off in the joy of their new found freedom. The freedom for the butterfly came from realizing that there were no more should's and should not's in his life. There was perfection in the caterpillars ignorance of his true nature as it allowed him to live the perfect cycle of God's love.
May we all look within finding our own freedom in relinquishing our belief of how things should be and understanding in our hearts that though we may have a different perspective it is all wonderfully perfect when looked at from the view of Divine Will.
As we each emerge from our own cocoons having freed ourselves from fear may we spread our wings in gratitude to All that is and all that we are.
Yours in Joy,
Jenn
