HAAAAAAAA ....

In my previous blog I asked the question "What will today bring?"

Well I managed to get my walk done, came home and Jack flopped on the sofa with that "I vaaaant to beeee alooooone!" look on his face. I thought "Aye aye, whatsup here then?" He's usually tired after a walk but he looked plain miserable really.

So I busied myself making butternut squash, veggie and lentil soup for lunch and then I did a bit of 'gardening' - weeded out two tubs and replanted a plant I think I may have killed last week through overwatering!

The tubs are on top of a bay window outside the living room window at the front of the house so I could reach out and do the weeding. I enjoyed doing that while the soup was cooking.

I was tempted to get out on the bay myself to clean the outside of the windows but I was a bit worried that the windows might close on me and I'd be stranded outside on the bay at first floor level, so I thought perhaps another time eh ... given my accident prone record of late!

Boy was I glad I didn't get out there because no sooner had I turned my back than a huge deluge appeared from above complete with thunder, lightning and black clouds. Within 2 minutes of starting there was about 2 inches of water in the street below! Jack needed a pee so I put on my raincoat and dragged him out the front door. Boy that dog is stubborn! So I told him if I took him back inside he'd have to cross his legs until the rain stopped.

Well that storm lasted for well over an hour and it came from nowhere and every time I thought it had passed, it came back. But it has cleared the air and Jack must have sensed it coming, hence the sulks on the sofa.

I felt more energetic after the storm and decided to make a fresh fruit salad for later. So that's marinading in vodka and cherry juice.

For some reason I am veeeeeeeery hungry today so I'm off to see if it's ready.
