The treasured trick of time
That on occasion has allowed
This cosmic couplet to shine
In what seems the same cloud

Symbiotic siblings they, the
Quiet Moon, the explosive Sun
At these times, together play
A lunar eclipse is so much fun

One shining and one reflecting
In solar eclipses intersecting
One rising, the other setting
Yet simultaneously connecting

One inspires us to stop and stare
Ignoring all stars everywhere
Tho' the other, if we would dare
Could blind us with it's glare

A giant inferno ablaze in the sky
Or a silent orb as white as a lie
Choose between them, ne'er would I try
Oh, how sweet these treats for the eye!
