Being open to receiving is just as important as giving! How many times have we received a compliment, a dinner, a gift,a sign, a confirmation,so much more... and felt uncomfortable because we didn't know how to accept it (maybe because we were taught only to give and that receiving as selfish?), therefore denying others or the Universe of the good trying to be given to us?
When we are open to receiving, we are honoring the Universe and other people by allowing them to do their part of giving! It's important to have that balance! Since I was always taught to always give and not receive, things always felt a bit stagnant and I wondered why my good was not coming my way!! Wow, could it be that it's because I was not open to receiving???
So, I set an intention to start noticing where I was closing myself off to receiving and made sure no matter how uncomfortable I felt, I would start to be open to it. The next day, I had lunch with a friend who asked if they could treat me by purchasing my lunch! At first, I felt a resistence and wanted to say no no thank you so much! Then, I heard my intuition say 'by saying yes you are honoring her in her giving process.' So I gratefully said yes. I started being open to even the little things like compliments coming my way. WOW, all of a sudden the Universe started giving me more and more blessings, because I was now fully open to receive them!
It's important to honor the act of 'receiving' just as much as 'giving.' I'm so grateful for having discovered this and so grateful to share it with you!!!!
