Awaiting Venus

Something stirs within my soul
As I cast my gaze to the west
And sometimes right around sunset
One light appears before the rest

But my Venus is still out there
Her hips swaying in the stillness
Between the staggered breaths of
Lovers drunk with deep desire

As she dances in my dreams
To the rhythm of my heartbeat
Morning Star shines like no other
Setting the night sky on fire

Some she blesses with kisses and caresses
Each being as beautiful as the next
That's why of all the gods and goddesses
I've always loved Venus the best
