Celestial Love Song

Awake at four-thirty a.m.
Before the moon disappeared
Behind the angular rooftops
It was full and beautifully bright
As this part of the world soundly slept
Still blanketed by newly fallen snow
No clouds tonight, only stars en masse.
The light of the sun reflected
Off the moon, reflected
Off the snow, reflected
Off the stark white walls
Of my bedroom and into my eyes
It kept me awake and thinking of you
(Forgive me, Will...)
I'm the moon and you're the sun
My heart, the starry night sky
The earth, my black fear
And just as the moon above
Revolves around this planet
I am still ruled by my fears
My truth, not forthcoming.
Yet how utterly insignificant
Is the landscape illuminated
by we busy humans and our
electric lights that burn away
The emptiness of the night
When held in comparison to the
Mighty majestic magnificent moon?
There is meaning no matter what shape my fear
For, if the moon is prisoner of the earth
Then the earth is prisoner of the sun
And whatever force contains them all
There and therein lies the key to their freedom
O Love, the force that keeps me revolving 'round her
Free me now from my fears!
Then the solitary sojourner slowly sank
Three-quarters, then two-thirds
One-half, then one-third
One-quarter, then one-eighth
Then just a sliver, and then gone
But my love for you remains
Burning bright as ever.
