The Moon Is Full! Now What?

I started practicing lightcasting when first I heard of the concept from Chris Witeki. At first I really didn't understand the concept, other than sending out a wish or a want during the dark of the moon.

I have done dark of the moon work before, and usually it has deep ties to underworld journeying... working on the internal, dragging up and sending out energies and wishes from the core foundation of who I am.

But what does that have to do with the moon?

I spent some time attempting to understand the hidden wisdom behind the moon, and what it can represent at it's different phases.

When the moon is waxing, it is growing larger. If we visualize the moon filling up with energy, we can place our lightcasting intention into the universe and watch as the moon grows full of energy and see our wishes or our hopes manifest into a full glowing ball of intent.

This helps the full moon celebration. Imagine how glorious the moon will shine when it is full of our lightcasting wishes!

This process is made even stronger if you draw down the moon. I know this is a loose term and it's thrown around a lot without any real definition, so I'll do my best to explain.

Energy work has a huge spectrum of definition. If you take for granted that the moon holds energy, and it's a source you can tap into, then pulling that energy down becomes a source of empowerment.

There are a few ways to accomplish this pull of energy. Some say having a salt bath in the light of the moon and visualizing the energy wash over your body. Some say standing outside naked and holding your arms up to the moon and pulling the energy down. For me it was a simple conversation, an understanding, and a bath in the moon's glow.

This is a temporary ritual. Any energy work, although a channel is open, requires constant vigilance to continue. Draw down the moon every month! Lightcast in the dark of the moon and put your intent into the energy that builds up as the moon goes through her cycle. Release and send up and out in celebration when the moon is full and casting a silver magick over everything you see.

Moon energy is specific. When we focus on moon energy, there are a few common ties that tend to resonate with most people. Creative, intuitive, and emotional energies. This doesn't mean your lightcasting wishes must be within this spectrum, but understand when you look at the moon, that this is where creative, intuitive, and emotional power reside in nature.

This is a constant tie with the moon. This is drawing her energy down, sending your energy up, and tying both in a knot. Creating a permanent and constant connection with the moon will help you manifest your desires and gives us a visual calendar to help us watch as our spiritual lives unfold every month.

It is said that looking upon the reflection of the full moon on a body of water is Zen. It took me a while to understand this concept, but if you think of water as a conduit for creative, intuitive, and emotional energies, and you see the energy source of those specific concepts reflected within it, you are looking at pure "from the source" nature magick.

Thanks for reading, and enjoy the moon!
