The Key

I wish I could be the one
To share her every passion
To be the fuel for her sun
Yeah, that's all I want for me
This woman in my arms
And give her all my energy

Like a rare and unseen bird
That sings the sweetest song
Anyone has ever heard
Priceless and beyond compare
Wanting her all to myself
Seems selfish and unfair

She can wash it all away
The pain of no tomorrow
And the stains of yesterday
No, I'm not speaking of sin
Rather, the lonely place inside
Where lasting love has never been

How limitless is my rise
When we smile and laugh and
Look into each other's eyes
I'm not talkin' 'bout time and space
Just the inner beauty that radiates
From her perfect face

She means everything to me
From the glories of God's heaven
To the failures of my humanity
No, I won't fixate on fate
When I tell her I love her
And hope I'm not too late

I travel the path that's mine
Some will say it's a race, but
Whatever the case, I'm doing fine
First to finish or last to start
If I had come with a lock
She'd have the key to my heart
