Do We Really Want To Be Pavlov's Dog ?

As individual beings, have we been so thoroughly conditioned that we find it difficult to accept genuine people do exist in this world of ours? Why is it when you do a good deed or something special for someone, quite often their reply is “I am shocked” “I am stunned”. The conditioning is way out of control. When we have great difficulty accepting what is given in love, there is something desperately wrong.

Conditioning is control, control of thoughts, actions and deeds. We are told how to react, taught how to speak and pressured into behaving as the majority expect. These are norms, but whose norms?

It is time we truly examined our actions, words and deeds and learn whether they come from our heart or from some ingrained necessity to conform to the expectations of others. In doing so be open to receiving from others who give from the heart in love, not because it is what is expected. Look beyond what is taught, expected, demanded.

By changing our own receptiveness we also help to change others. Only we can change how we perceive, how we accept and how we give.

Do we really want to be Pavlov’s dog? Drool when we hear a bell?

I, for one, choose not to.
