Dispelling the Mother Myth

All Women are Mother's . Whether they gave birth,or adopted or neither.

Now before I hear from the male population,Yes Men are also great parents/caregivers. And you do have some wonderful nurturing qualities, that we just adore :-). But last time I looked ,you were missing a womb. (Perhaps I should check again, just in case!)

I remember,as a wee lass, attending church services with my Mum,On Mothers Day. At the beginning of Mass, the priest would ask all Mom's to stand up. Watching my Mum,and women, young and old rise to their feet.I admired them, and longed to join the elite circle.Time marched on,and I was soon able to join that circle. When I looked about,I noticed the women who stayed seated, the look of longing, indifference, and sadness about there faces. I wanted to know their stories. And this is what initially stirred me.

Women nurture. It is our way. You can rebel, fight me on this .But still,Women nurture.

For those of you who believe you do not have a nurturing bone in your body, nor do you want to. Read on.

Whether it is Men,Children of our womb or others. (Teachers, caregivers, nurses, sunday school teachers or that kid you smiled @ last week on the sidewalk). Plants, animals. Yes, even and especially the concepts of ideas ,dreams and passions. Women nurture all these ,we watch them grow from the initail inspiration to an idea ,followed by more nurturing ,into the manifestation of the dream. Women are dreammakers, for the Universe.

We are the nurtures of the Arts. The museums, the starving arts guild.the thespians of stage and film.Charities galore and crusades as well.

One of my dreams,is on Mothers day to have every Woman stand when they pay homage o Mothers.

So Please stand up and take a bow !
