Being PRO as opposed to Anti

In taking responsibility for the way we direct our energy, being aware of what we give our energy to, I offer this for consideration. Many wonderful well-meaning souls decide to take a stand on an issue, yet the approach can often fuel the the exact issue they are trying to change. When you focus on a situation..then demonstrate against..you, unknowingly, are adding your creative energy to that situation. Is it not a better approach, to find a parallel manner of utilizing your energy to create that which you wish to see? In other words..instead of protesting side-by-side with the advocates of a situation..create a separate function to PRO-mote your vision that is opposite of that which currently IS. Example: If you are drawn to protest the war..create a PRO-motion for peace. Have an event that emphasizes the societies that have thrived in times when there was peace. There are inumerable ways to show the beauty of peaceful society. And truth be told, you will receive much more attention to what you are promoting, for more people will be drawn to a function that feels good to them(especially when they are not activists or even aware there is an issue)..then one that feels bad. This creates a wonderful opportunity to reach and educate more people to the alternatives.

Mother Teresa was quoted as saying :"I was once asked why I don't participate in anti-war demonstrations. I said that I will never do that, but as soon as you have a pro-peace rally, I'll be there."

When I first heard her quote a few years ago, I understood immediately she knew the effect of our energy and creatrix..and there is great wisdom in her simple statement.
